Los Angeles indie pop and rock band Smallpools was one of the fastest rising, most buzzing acts to hit the scene a year ago. Debut song Dreaming was an immediate, infectious hit, winning fans all around even before they had a debut EP out. Last summer, they released their four track debut EP, to much fanfare, replete with plenty of hooks and upbeat rocking pop music. After a long silence, they’ve returned with more of their signature catchy music, in the form of new single Killer Whale. Turns out, Smallpools has been quietly working on their debut album, and this is our first new taste off it. Sounds like they’ve been doing a great job, as it’s another hit ready pop rock anthem. Come fall, Smallpools will be embarking on their first headlining tour with Magic Man and Panama Wedding. What a trifecta to catch! They’ll be playing the Independent in San Francisco on November 21. Mark your calendars.
